Many years ago, we were delighted when the Trafford Centre team invited us to be a part of their exciting new venture which was to open in 1998....and what a successful and vibrant venture it turned out to be!
Almost twenty years later we are proud to have stayed the course - becoming an integral part of the Trafford Centre and its longest established restaurant and the only family run eatery.
Next year will be our 20th anniversary and we are looking forward to some serious partying with regular customers and new friends alike ....watch this space!!
The Yang Sing group began in Manchester's China Town and has been around since 1977, moving to bigger and brighter premises in 1985. Our initial restaurant in Princess Street is celebrating an incredible 40th birthday this year.
That's a whole lot of experience, tradition and delicious food!
We are the only family run restaurant in the Trafford Centre and have the additional benefit of our Managing Director, Gerry Yeung, still being very much 'hands on'. He can be seen in Yang Sing Cathay or our sister restaurant, Wokooshii (which serves Japanese or Korean food) on most days, even during this year in which he is honoured to have been chosen by the Queen to carry out the unique role of High Sheriff of Greater Manchester. We are very proud of him!
Yang Sing Cathay’s atmosphere is traditional and has a modern oriental charm. We serve honest and traditional Cantonese food, using ingredients that are market fresh and sourced from local suppliers whenever possible. We even have a local grower of Chinese vegetables who is based in Cheshire, and started his business many years ago with seeds actually brought over from China by us! The dishes are cooked to order and the sauces are made to authentic recipes by our talented chefs, who served their apprenticeships in China and Hong Kong.
Join us for a quick refuel of dim sum during shopping, a casual lunch, a relaxed dinner or indulge yourself with one of our specially created bespoke banquets to celebrate a special occasion with your family and friends.
It's always a good time to enjoy good food.
